High Elf, Dwarf (runner not technically a thrower, but close enough, also, sure hands) Teams which should always have a thrower: Humans, Skaven, Khemri (all these guys start with sure hands btw.) Teams which can start with one, but should (probably) not replace: In all honesty, their usefulness or lack thereof is probably down to individual playstyle more than anything else. Much like a wizard, the threat of a pass is often enough to make your opponent play differently, much of the time to your advantage. I personally like to take throwers, although rarely actually pass with them. It's one more positional competing for apothecary privileges. The urge to develop a thrower who is actually good at throwing often means you have less block on the pitch.

It's rarely bad to have additional options. Sure hands will save rerolls and protect from strip ball.įor some teams (primarily Skaven and Orcs IMO) they free up more important players who would otherwise need to carry the ball.Ī developed elven thrower (particularly with +AG) who can just hang out at the back of the pitch makes defence far more difficult. Cheap access to Leader can (sometimes more than) offset the extra TV.
